Default Twin Spires - still terrible

I was forced over to Twin Spires from YouBet. The initial switchover was terrible for a couple days, as you literally could not get through to customer service. TS has a "sorta looks like" platform that is a half-functional beta imitation of the nice YouBet platform, without the ease and functionality of use.

Yet today, it got even worse: sign on, TS kicked me out three times, saying my account is already being used at another computer by someone else. That went on for an hour or so, with customer service saying gee, yes, we have bugs, no the accounts have not been hacked and are secure.

Then, while trying to watch Hollywood 2-year-old races, the pools grids (exacta and win) just ... disappeared from the screen. Gone. Called customer service again. Was told, "Yeah, we have other bugs. We suggest you use our basic Twin Spires platform."

No thanks - that's why I tried out but never continued to use TS in the first place - lack of a good interactive platform. I can't believe YouBet did this to us.

I totally agree...this really sucks for a number of reasons besides the ones you listed. All the same **** happened to me also. Why cant Twin Spires just use the same thing that youbet had ?
I am hoping someone posts another website that is easy to use.

They really suck.

I have an Xpressbet account, too, as a backup for the YouBet (I tried TS in the past but never liked them). I'll give TS another couple weeks, but I'm so unimpressed by everything Twin Spires, I'll probably cancel and just go with Xpressbet. Give them a try, I'm sure they have a signup or transfer bonus.

If this was a merger why couldnt they use the original Yobet platform with the Twinspires TV. Right now they seem like they are trying to re-invent the wheel with thier crappy Twinspires express. Why are they asking for feedback when they already know what we want??

I just watched the Hollywood Derby.

According to the Twin Spires start times listed for today under "change tracks", Hollywood's first race will be getting under way here in another 10-15 minutes or so.

Default Twin Spires you suck

So I place a bet at TS on AQI Race 8. The bet is accepted. They run the race my horse #5 wins ($20W). No pay off they give me a refund, so I call they say it was a computer malfunction - but they will re-load and pay off. I send in an email asking wtf.

Here is what I get:

Sir,

Amtote, the system that our wagers are submitted through, experienced an outage with the computer system at Aqueduct. Any wagers placed on the 7th and 8th race, regardless of the time they were placed, have been refunded. Our supervisors are working with the Corporate offices to create the best solution to this problem. We will update you as soon as we have more information regarding wagers at Aqueduct. It could be a day or so before we are able to give you a final verdict on pay outs.

We apologize for this inconvenience and assure you that the issue is being worked on as we speak.

Thank you for your patience regarding this matter,

and then they sent me this...

Sir,
The terms and conditions of the site do state and it shows it every time you place a wager "Wagering is subject to the acceptance by host track pool". When AmTote goes down those wagers are not accepted by the host track there for that money NEVER goes into the payout pools at the track. That is why they were refunded. As stated before our supervisors are looking into a solution. This will take a few days. We will keep you updated if anything changes.

This has happened before, and they will probably pay off your winning wager, but legally they don't have to. They will make you feel like they are doing you a big favor, however.

That explains why my losing pick 4 wager was refunded.

Amtote is the villian here, there system is anything but foolproof, and they apparently have no liability when it fails.

Might as well bet offshore if it won't make it into the pools anyway.
