Remembering Spectacular Bid
Today would have been his 35th birthday. Barbara Livingston remembers his 25th. Spectacular Bid's 25th birthday - February 17, 2001
I will always have a soft spot for The Bid. His was the first Derby I ever saw; my introduction to horse racing. Even 'tho I was very young I'm glad I had the opportunity to see him. They sure don't make them like that anymore.

I hated Bid! He broke my heart so many times beating Flying Paster (all time favorite) growing up in so. cal. I did not realize it at the time, but he is the best horse i've ever watched in person.
I would walk by his barn at S.A and it would just ruin my day..lol...It was like the Vikings beating the Rams everytime they faced eachother in the playoffs. Those losses to the Bid stung so bad...But what a racehorse!!!!
