Default Sad - female eagle killed at a different nest

This is really sad - female eagle at another camera-monitored nest (Norfolk Gardens) was struck and killed by an airplane this morning. Three large chicks, the father has been near the nest all day but hasn't feed the chicks yet.

Biologists are monitoring, if the father doesn't feed by tomorrow they will take the chicks to raise. It's possible he could raise the chicks alone, they are about a week away from being able to feed themselves.

The eagle pair had been together for 9 years, and she was 13-15 years old (eagles mate for life)

Good news: the male is continuing to feed the chicks solo. Hopefully they will be fine.

Ooooooh, puppy cam!

Yeah, puppy tv is awesome. It's even better in real life - you don't get anything done for 3 days after puppies are whelped
