On one of my first trips to Laurel as a kid, I played He is Risen on the day before Easter.

Winner.

Santa Claus won at Fair Grounds on a Christmas Eve in the 1970s.

I've never played horses based on their names, but must admit I have been tempted a couple of times. In the Arlington Million last year, the horse that won was named Debussy and in the Beverly D, it was Eclair de Lune. When I was in college, in fine arts music had to listen to the French composer Claude Debussey and the music was Clair de Lune. Dunce that I am though, I didn't play either one of them.
