Anyone know is Baffert shipped Plum Pretty to Juan Guerreros barn for the Cottillion? Seriously though, that was some performance.

That would mean about a 112 for Jackson Bend -- and he wasn't the one on an uncontested lead over a wet race track.
He wins the ribbon hands down for best effort in defeat on Super Saturday. |

nice to see nice horses run nice numbers again.
Uncle Mo and Jackson Bend WOW Also Wilburn got a nice Beyer for an impressive performance beating Shack Harve a nice number Cape Blanco and Stacelita ran 100 and above for being Grade 1 horses, so that looks decent. Plum Pretty with that 108 is the wow number for me of the week, 2nd behind Uncle Mo. Really really happy our good horses this year are putting up figures to back up the performances. |

The inside move seemed like an odd choice in a 4 horse field on a sloppy track.

The more I've thought about that race, the more I think that as probably the best ride of Naks life. Which is saying next to nothing. People can say the move was premature. You can also say there was no way he could sustain such a prolonged run. I disagree with both. Not only for the reason(s) I said the other day, but also, looking back, I don't think JB did falter, or fail to sustain his run. The top two both flew home and JB had something like 7.5 lengths between him and the show horse. How could the horse possibly have run any better than he did?? I think it was more illusion than anything else, when it comes to JB apparently flattening out, or whatever term people think. |
