Here's Presque Isle Downs latest reported week:

Gamblers wagered $41.3 million on slot machines at Presque Isle Downs & Casino during the week of Oct. 24-30.

The amount returned to gamblers was $37.4 million, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported.

The gross revenue -- the amount of gamblers' losses -- was nearly $3.1 million, after subtracting $907,221 in promotional free plays. Of that, nearly $1.7 million went to the state and nearly $1.4 million to the casino.

During a comparable week in 2010, Oct. 25-31, gamblers wagered $40.2 million.

The record for slots wagers in one week was $57 million, set July 5-11, 2010.

Presque Isle has 44 table games and a poker room. I don't believe that the figure is just slots. Aqueduct has neither....yet. The drop on 44 table games is huge. So the numbers aren't very comparable.

The table games and poker aren't included in the figure. Just slots.

They had neither table games nor poker at this time last year.

The numbers don't appear to be consistent in the article. If, as suggested early in the article, however, that the net revenue is about $1.5 million per day, then the "handle" is about 9X that amount (or about $135 million over ten days).

It's $1.5 million in hold per day... so approximately $18.75 million per day wagered based on NYS VLT's payout of 92%. I'd expect these numbers to reach triple that when the casino is full operational.

As for table games- most casinos have a 70/30 revenue split between slots/tables so the increase in revenues won't be as much as you'd might think if it were just replacing other games. However- it does bring in a lot more people who wouldn't be caught dead pushing buttons who in turn bring people who won't play table games- so the net hold increases based on more total players significantly.

Yeah -- that was some seriously sloppy wording in the NY Post article.

The handle for table games isn't ever reported in the paper here. Once a month they will report the table games revenue though. Basically what's cleared. The slots figures get reported in the paper every week.
