Juddmonte's Frankel (GB) (Galileo {Ire}) continued to see off all challengers Tuesday night when the unbeaten colt took home Horse of the Year honors at the Cartier Awards. His challengers in that category were Cirrus des Aigles (Fr) (Even Top {Ire}), Danedream (Ger) (Lomitas {GB}), Goldikova (Ire) (Anabaa) and So You Think (NZ) (High Chaparral {Ire}); Cirrus des Aigles and Danedream were respectively named champion older horse and champion 3-year-old filly.

Frankel was also honored as champion 3-year-old colt after a season that saw him collect the G1 2000 Guineas, G1 St. James's Palace S., G1 Sussex S. and G1 Queen Elizabeth II S.

Danedream certainly deserved some serious consideration, what an animal.

I'm glad to see that Cirrus Des Aigles got some well deserved recognition - he has been nothing short of brilliant this year and on a line through Silver Pond would have run extremely well in the Arc had he been allowed to (geldings are ineligible). He is what is so great about horse racing!

As for Frankel, my big regret on this board is not starting a thread on this fella before he had even raced - there was so much hype about him before his first start and again it is fantastic to see a horse live up to the hype - onwards and upwards next year and I hope they really try and shoot for the stars with him next year taking in top class G1s from a mile to a mile and a half!
