Nice job Steve. To best way to find the Keeneland library is to search for "DRF Archives", it comes up on top in Google.

maybe we can enjoy the rapid redux story and not have to consult historians that talk about horses that ran in the 1800's and early 1900's. obviously nobody in his right mind is comparing him to a citation but it's a cute story in a time in racing where cute stories are enjoyable.
problem here is the same people that stick up for scum like dutrow are putting down rapid redux's accomplishments. seems to me that this whole thing is the same type of thing as the whole tebow story. no one in their right mind is comparing him to a brady but once again it's a cute story in a sport filled with bad people like big ben. |

I just hate it when truth rears its ugly head in the face of fantasy.

Bowen is terrific. I forget to reach out to him and am always delighted when he visits. He has a wealth of history to draw from and his books are invaluable for anyone who wants to appreciate the sports vast heritage. I'll put links up for those unfamiliar with his work...

Great job. The DRF Archive/Keeneland Library project needs a great push. There is a ton of great stuff up there and it's so easy searching once you get the hang of the advanced search feature. You can pull up what you're looking for in seconds. It will be tremendous if the project ever gets finished... obviously it's incomplete right now and would need a little more funding. A lot of good stuff is especially in the Jan 2nd through 7th editions. They have detailed stats on a wide range of things -- including trainer stats, jockey stats, and horse record stats for all who made $3,000 or more in Earnings for the prior calendar year. |
