Default Browns are hitting this draft out of the park

I really love what the Browns have done so far this draft.

1st pick: They gave up a 4th, 5th, and 7th round draft pick to move up one spot so they could secure a running back in a pass first league.

2nd pick of 1st round: They took a QB who is 28.75 years old.

2nd round pick: This was a top five 2nd round pick (#37 overall) and the Brownies went out and got themselves the top Jew in the entire draft. They got a tackle name Schwartz from Cal.

3rd round pick: They went out and got the second best defensive tackle from the Cinncinnati Bearcats squad. Yes, you heard that right, the Denver Broncos took the top rated Bearcat DT with the #36 overall pick in the 2nd round. Cleveland got the lower rated one in the 3rd round.

If you're a fan of wasting 3 picks to move up one spot, or drafting QB's in the first round who are on the verge of collecting social security, or taking the highest rated Jew on the draft board, or taking the 2nd best DT on the Cinncy Bearcats roster ... you have to love what the Brownies have done so far this draft.

And way to show confidence in the punting game and not draft a punter #70 overall in the 3rd round like the Jaguars did. I'm sure the Browns have the second best punter in this draft lined up for their 4th round pick.

Default mistake on the lake

did the Browns hire Matt Millen to run the draft for them ?

i would love to know how he finds work. Norv Turner is still coaching San Diego? their owner must be a mental midget.

i saw that the browns might trade mccoy. that surprised me, i thought he had done well.

and i think the chargers owner just wants to see how low they can go. what else could explain keeping turner?

i can't stand millen. how he has employment in anything regarding football is absolutely inexplicable.

If they trade McCoy, I hope they trade him to the Pats, he could become the heir apparent to the best QB ever.

What exactly would you get for Colt McCoy, a date with his sister? Certainly nothing of football value.

YOu're being a wimp Calzone, lifelong Cleveland fans when all is said and done in the end accept this draft as being pretty good for Cleveland standards. Reggie Hodges was the best Browns player on the roster in 2010 and he's coming back from his injury this year, no way we were going to draft a punter!! A healthy Hodges gives them one more win in 2011.

Colt McCoy stinks and everyone knows it. I'm sure they would have taken a 7th rounder for him this year 3rd day of the draft and no one would give that up for him.

In the end they probably shouldn't have traded 3 picks to move up 1 spot and they likely could have gotten Weeden at 37 and a better o-lineman at 22, but they got two rookies to compete for the right tackle job which was needed. And Travis Benjamin is really fast. The last Cleveland championship came two years before I was born, I'm getting on up toward 50 and have seen zero in any sport in my lifetime, when you put it into that perspective, this draft was fine (where's clyde?)

The Browns abortion of a draft cost them one game.

Weeden is pathetic.

Trent Richardson -- other than one highlight reel 8-yard run was terrible -- and Schwartz wasn't doing much as the side of the O-line opposite the one Joe Thomas was on was getting blown up left and right.

The Browns defense played incredible and didn't get a break as the offense couldn't stay on the field.

The Browns defense picks Vick 4 times -- and they weren't cheap picks on deep balls either -- they were good picks that setup great field position and one of them was even returned for a TD by a linebacker.

The defense also stripped Shady McCoy and he lost a fumble, which is a major rarity for him.

Force 5 turnovers, none of them cheap ones on deep balls that are like punts, and you still lose 17-16 thanks to Weeden's solid 12-for-35 with 0 TD's and 4 INT's and Richardson's 39 yards on 19 carries plus two dropped passes.

Vick was so pathetic.. throwing into triple coverage, staring down recievers.. the birds let cleveland hang around. Our defense was great.. the only player on the field worse than Vick on Saturday? Weeden.

Vick keeps it up and we are a 5 win team.
