6/8: Belmont Park ($84k C/O)
Belmont Week has flown by at a scary pace and it seems the quest for immortality in Saturday's feature has everyone associated with the sport in a state of great anticipation. In addition to the main event, Friday has managed to enhance the appeal with a P6 carryover on an outstanding sequence that ends with I'll Have Another pilot Mario Gutierrez getting a 12f audition for the Belmont in the G2 Brooklyn. Sorry to have not been playing the last couple of days, but I hope you've been enjoying the coverage from Elmont. Steve Crist, Rich Migliore, Nick Tammaro, Ed DeRosa, John Perrotta and more this morning on ATR..
BELMONT PARK POST-SCRATCHES 5th: MDN CLM, 3+, 7f-T (P6, P3, DD) $84k P6 C/O starts here.. Quirky race to start terrific sequence with favorites lukewarm between 7-2 & 4-1. Lightly-raced options are generally appealing in these situations and Angel Penna's Fear Nothing returns to grass after being rained off for last. A horse like Countnickerbocker from clever Domino is worth a flyer here going to the green out of a modest Irish stake winning mare while dropping down out of state bred MSW company.. Most Likely: #5 Fear Nothing 5-1 WON ($7.40) Best Value: #6 Countknickerbocker 30-1 8th Next Best: #2 Teahuppo 5-1 6th Exotics Use: #7 Hardrocker 4-1 3rd 6th: OC/C, F&M-3+, 8.5f-IT (G/S, P3, DD) Brown sharp off layoffs but is Honeymoon Girl that much better here than Julie's Love and the better priced options? Best Value: #6 Zapparition 5-1 5th Next Best: #5 Honeymoon Girl 3-1 3rd Exotics Use: #3 Julie's Love 5-2 WON ($3.90) Super Add: #4 Naples Bay 12-1 2nd 7th: NY-ALW/N1X, F&M-3+, 7f-T (P4, P3, DD) Very tricky group with fast, returning 5yo Akira (Aldebaran) and a host of prospective winners. Stray Bullet -- curiously also an Aldebaran -- has improved tremendously since Jacobson aquisition. City Scamper is headed in the right direction as well and Strikeslinethruit gets a rider upgrade from Curatolo. Mostess Hostess returns as a 4yo and you're not obligated to use her, but I am. Her dam (Twinkie Zone) was one of my favorite horses to be around in the Del Carroll barn.. Most Likely: #5 Akira 4-1 9th Next Best: #3 Stray Bullet 3-1 4th Exotics Use: #10 Strikealinethruit 6-1 2nd Super Add: #8 City Scamper 4-1 10th 8th: NY-MSW, 3+, 6f-IT (P3, DD) Unremarkable group of state breds. Wouldn't take much progress for Verde Mont to eclipse these moving to lawn. Lakeman has improved All Zipped Up with turf tries. Bond's Solengo klogical 2nd of break with Ramon. Snicker Kid is around the money every time and needs to be in exotics should turf suit at all.. Most Likely: #6 Verde Mont 8-1 2nd Best Value: #7 All Zipped Up 15-1 6th Next Best: #10 Solengo 6-1 8th Exotics Use: #2 The Snickers Kid 7-2 WON ($8.00) 9th: 29th Jaipur (G3), 3+, 7f-T (DD) Fell short with old friend Bergerac in Kentucky, but he looks nicely drawn for this spot for Pompa/Brown. Yield Bogey back for 8yo debut and working well.. Most Likely: #7 Bergerac 7-2 4th Best Value: #2 Yield Bogey 8-1 3rd Next Best: #5 Right One 2-1 2nd Exotics Use: #4 Upgrade 6-1 WON ($12.00) 10th: 124th Brooklyn H. (G2), 3+, 12f (Brooklyn-Belmont Double) Entertaining edition of this standard features winners from last 2 years in Birdrun and Eldaafer, both seemingly far off form. #1a Balladry will be SCR'd.. Best Value: #7 Golden Gulch 12-1 8th Next Best: #4 Eye On Jacob 5-1 10th Exotics Use: #10 Redeemed 5-2 WON ($6.50) Super Add: #1 Arthur's Tale 8-1 3rd <$25 Brooklyn-Belmont Double Play: 1-4-5-7-10 with 1-3-4-5-9 = $25 ($50 for $2) <$300 P6 Play: 5: 2-5-6 6: 5-6 7: 3-5 8: 6-7-10 9: 7 10: 1-4-7-10 3x2x2x3x1x4 = 144 x $2 = $288 <$75 P4 Play: 7: 3-5-10 8: 6-7-10 9: 2-4-5-7 10: 1-4-7-10 3x3x4x4 = 144 x .50 = $72 Good luck! Steve

Rooting hard for Naples Bay in the 6th today. The breeder of this filly lives right here in Great Falls. Her best number puts her right in the mix here. Love your exacta in the Brooklyn as those two look solid and offer some value.
Great job all week from Belmont..........if you don't hear it enough Steve, your hard work is very much appreciated and the 'guest' lineup this week was superb!!

Steve, noticed that you multiplied by 3 in your Brooklyn/Belmont double. Is that a minimum $3 bet? Haven't played a double in years, but I thought the minimum was $2 or even a $1 at some venues.
