Default The biggest Breeders Cup question mark

Point of Entry in the Turf.

I'm befuddled in regard to what to do with him.

No matter what, he has to be an underlay, right?

While I've been a big fan of his, I'm going against him here. Its a lot to ask off such a long layoff and injury.

How about Secret Circle? I guess he's easier to toss off for so long, but he ran a time nearly fast enough to win this at Santa Anita as a 2yo, then fires big off the layoff. At the start of his career he broke his maiden first out, then validated with two more improving figures (101-106-110 Timeform). He's close off last, and any improvement makes him as fast as any here.

How can he realistically be expected to beat The Fugue?

Point of Entry is currently between 7-2 and 9-2 on UK books, but pools are surely quite small. Still,POE has been the biggest mover in last day, going from a best priced 6-1 into 9-2 best price.

As for The Fugue, she might be very good, but has absolutely positively had beyond perfect trips in her two most recent wins. If she gets over the top in the BC, I think she needs an outer draw to remain free and clear, which is what has happened in her last two.

On his form, as if the injury/setback never happened, I'd be certain he'd beat The Fugue.

That's not living in the real world, though.

I know the Europeans at Timeform like The Fugue in the Turf, I don't know though. Hard to imagine the same The Fugue we saw last year has improved to the point where she's worth betting to win the BC Turf.

Would they run POE here if they did not feel he was as good as ever??

dammittohell

love point of entry. but i think all things considered you'd be better off putting your money elsewhere. the layoff, the injury aren't necessarily crushers. rht...welll, it's just one thing too many.
