Default dick jerardi

i was hoping he would be on one of the shows this week
i follow his preakness picks when steve has him on in previous years he usually grabs one big exacta and bets heavy on it
any way of finding who he liked for tommorrow?

Pace Makes The…Exacta
By Dick Jerardi
Philadelphia Daily News Columnist

ANALYSIS: CALIFORNIA CHROME’s 5-2 in the Derby is likely to be 2-5 in the Preakness. His Derby win looked just like the four wins before it--speed to get position, big move on the far turn, run away from the field in the stretch. The final time was quite slow, but it is possible that was a result of a head wind and track maintenance. Other than the time, which certainly confused the issue, there was nothing not to like about how CALIFORNIA CHROME ran and won. There appears to be some serious speed to his outside--SOCIAL INCLUSION, BAYERN and PABLO DEL MONTE--so there is at least a chance of a pace meltdown and/or putting the Derby winner in a tight spot and holding him there. Still, CALIFORNIA CHROME, a two-way horse, always runs relaxed and almost always runs himself into a dream position with his early speed.

MAIN CONTENDERS: CALIFORNIA CHROME has won five consecutive stakes by a combined 26 lengths, all since united with Victor Espinoza. There were questions about the favorite’s training regimen and how he looked galloping at Churchill Downs. The questions were answered in the race. SOCIAL INCLUSION is obviously a rare talent. His blowout of Honor Code got the Best Beyer (111) of the year for a 3-year-old. The case could be made that even though he finished third, he was the best horse in the Wood Memorial. If there is going to be an upset, this is the most likely one. RIDE ON CURLIN ran a deceptively good race in the Derby and should be rolling late. BAYERN is fast, talented and dangerous. DYNAMIC IMPACT ran the race of his life to catch Midnight Hawk and win the Illinois Derby.

VALUE PLAYS: KID CRUZ is moving way up in class, but his two rallies from the back in the Private Terms and Tesio, races with zero pace, were eye-opening. If CALIFORNIA CHROME again runs the speed out of the race on the turn, KID CRUZ can come along late to fill out the exacta.

WAGERING STRATEGIES ($100):
$100 Exacta: CALIFORNIA CHROME over KID CRUZ ($100).

PICKS:
1. CALIFORNIA CHROME
2. KID CRUZ
3. RIDE ON CURLIN
4. SOCIAL INCLUSION
