During the show’s opening monologue, while Michael told a riveting story about Kate Upton in a robe, ABC cutaway to breaking news. The U.S. had just launched airstrikes in Iraq against Islamic militant group, ISIS. Important news no doubt, and certainly worthy of interrupting Michael Strahan’s boring story about a half-naked Kate Upton and wait, what’s that? People were angry? You don’t say.

Disturbing how some can be so detached from the world we all live in!

You know, although I AM in favor of the air strikes because of my fear for this country from groups like ISIS, the thread, if you'll notice the time, was started after his address where he stated that the humanitarian air drops were underway.

Today America is coming to help as in yes, this is what we do... when people are threatened, butchered, beheaded, forced to flee their homes, hide out in the mountains in 120 plus temperatures and then starve to death or drop dead or watch their children do so due to not having water?

Damned right America SHOULD come to help.

I have been VERY critical of this President so sure... he finally makes a decision, takes a stand... yes I do applaud him.

I was pretty surprised when I woke up to find the air strikes had already begun. Honestly I thought his giving the green light meant it was on the table for some future date as an option.

Just wanted to point that out.

Fortunately there are laws in place to keep the executive branch from reacting ....or overreacting, depending on your sensibilities, to global
hostilities between waring factions that do not pose an imminent threat to the Union outlined in the Constitution.
Unfortunately, this sitting president has decided time and time again that those rules don't apply to him.
I'm glad this makes you feel better. I pray your kids don't wind up maimed or dead as a result. There are plenty of those left over from ver. 1.0.

Like it or not, there is a reason for Congress in matters of National Security that involve intervening our military in global conflicts. But why should that matter.
