Virus knocks Lemon and Honey out..
Enigmatic Lemon and Honey shared a bullet 3/8th (:37.1) Friday on the Belmont Training Track in her 3rd work back off an extended winter break. After 45 days off, the 5yo Lemon Drop Kid mare has been slowly brought back to full training with extensive time being spent at the gate in an attempt to cure her refusing to break in her last 2 starts. There is no timetable for her but she will likely have a gate work soon to see if she's willing to leave when they spring the latch. Consideration was given to retiring and breeding the Farish-bred mare, but Gary wanted to attempt to get her straightened out. She looks terrific and if she's willing to leave the gate, there's no reason she won't be productive as she has some talent.

Lemon and Honey contracted some kind of virus 10 days ago which the vets could not figure out. Got her very sick and nearly foundered. Though she's much better, she has been sent to McMahon's to turn out and a decision is pending on what to do with her. As well as things have gone with Lucky, nothing seems to go right for this big, gorgeous filly.
