Venue for January 30 - Gulfstream

I'm faced with what I think is an easy decision for this Saturday's contest venue. While I might have been tempted to choose Turfway so that we could play the WEBN (which used to be the WEBN Frog), a major steppingstone on the road to the Spiral (which used to be the Jim Beam and a lot of other names), I overcame that temptation and chose

GULFSTREAM PARK

This time of year a horseplayer's fancy turns to 3 year olds, and the Gulfstream card has stakes races for nothing but 3 year olds. They include

Holy Bull (G2)
Forward Gal (G2)
Swale (G2)
Sweetest Chant (G3)
Kitten's Joy

In the past, on Holy Bull days the racing secretary has also carded some nifty NW1X or NW2X allowance races for 3 yr old colts, or an MSW for 3 year olds going around 2 turns - some of those winners have shown up on the Derby Trail down the road.

All in all, I'm hoping for a good day of racing as we begin to think about the first Saturday in May. I'll post the selection deadline once entries have been announced.
