ROI Results 10/28 @ Belmont
For the first time since 2013 we have a different player leading the ROI in wins. Ruffian had a
three peat leading our group with the most wins in 2014 2015 and 2016. NJ Stinks put an end to that awesome streak in 2017 by nailing his 8th win Saturday and can only add to that should he win on Saturday. With a big repeat win Saturday NJS can say "Belmont be bery bery good to me" (yeah I'm old enough to remember Jose Jimenez when ethnic humor was accepted). NJ Stinks once again nailed a big Daily Double in races 9 and 10 with both winners paying double digits good for $64 for each buck. All I can say is WOW NJS. Nicely played and congrats on the repeat. As you can see the rest of us were glad to hear the phrase "put it in the books" Belmont is over. Now on to Del Mar and the Breeders Cup. Following are the unofficial results pending any objections. As an added note Cruzan still has a sizeable lead for the ROI Championship in 2017 but with a $200 stake on Saturday "ya never know". WIN... NJ Stinks... +$871.25... $15 Doubles R 9 - 6, 9, 11 R 10 - 2, 4... $971.25 Joly B -$99.00 Real Quiet -$100.00 Don Guido -$100.00 Ruffian -$100.00 Roamin -$100.00 Cruzan -$100.00

I wish I could say I hit that bet in real life, Real Quiet. Still, I can humbly say I did hit the late Pick 3 at Belmont Saturday for a buck.
No doubt I'll miss Belmont's turf courses next week. But I have to say I do think Del Mar's new turf course is a huge improvement over the old one. And -win or lose - it's the Breeders' Cup so we are going to have an awesomely fun challenge! |
