5th: OC/N1X, 3+, 11f-IT (NYRA Bets P5, P3, DD)

Intriguing turf route with Bill Mott holding a heavy hand. Not a great deal of front runners involved and some prices do lurk including rare Leatherbury invader (if coming) and MDN breakthrough I'm the Captain Now from Tagg..

Most Likely: #3 Red Knight 7-2 2nd
Next Best: #8 Gauguin 5-2 3rd
Best Value: #10 Chateau de Vizelle 20-1 10th
Exotics Use: #9 I'm the Captain Now 10-1 4th

P5 Grid:

1: 3-4 (A), 2-6 (B), 1-5-8 (C)
2: 1-3-5 (A), 2-6-7 (B), - (C)
3: 1-3-8 (A), - (B), 2-6 (C)
4: 3 (A), - (B), 4-6-7 (C)
5: 3-8 (A), - (B), 2-9-10-11 (C)

Simple (A+B): 4x6x3x1x2 = 144 x .50 = $72
All A's: 2x3x3x1x2 = 36 x .50 = $18

P4 Grid:

2: 1-3-5 (A), 2-6-7 (B), - (C)
3: 1-3-8 (A), - (B), 2-6 (C)
4: 3-4 (A), 6-7 (B), 1-8 (C)

6th: 107th Astoria, 2yo-F, 5.5f (P4, P3, DD)

Throwback juvenile event has origins at Gravesend and was also run at Jamaica and Aqueduct and its' winners include Ruffian, Meadow Star, Affectionately, Jersey Girl (Pletcher's first stakes winner) and the first ever, Astarita, explaining why there's a stake in her name..

Next Best: #1 Wonder Stone 5-2 5th
Exotics Use: #8 Athens Queen 8-1 WON ($24.40)

7th: 5th Intercontinental (G3), F&M-4+, 7f-T (P3, DD)

Distaff counterpoint to the Jaipur honors Juddmonte & Frankel's $2,000,000 earning '05 BC F&M Turf winner. Tremendously competitive group with what looks to be a spirited pace. Baffert moves Faypien to the lawn here and being out of a Freud mare, could like it. We scored with Drysdale's La Sardane at Churchill and she looks plenty inviting at 20-1 in her N. A. stakes debut. She won the Group 2 Sandringham at Chantilly last year..

Best Value: #2 La Sardane 20-1 WON ($10.80)
Next Best: #10 Stormy Victoria 3-1 7th
Exotics Use: #4 Thundering Sky 8-1 8th
Super Add: #1 Malibu Stacy 15-1 4th

8th: 5th Wonder Again (G3), 3yo-F, 9f-IT (DD)

As Tweeted this morning, there is a real harmony of NYRA conducting the Intercontinental & Wonder Again concurrently, their careers culminating together in the 2005 Breeder's Cup F&M Turf which was their 4th meeting. Wonder Again had vanquished Juddmonte Farms' Hasili daughter in the 2004 Diana, but lost to her in the 2004 Just a Game & in the Cup. They both were beaten by Sand Springs in the 2005 Just a Game which hints at how terrific the Division was at that time with these mares as well as Ouija Board, Ticker Tape, Riskaverse, Film Maker, Moscow Burning, Megahertz and more..

Outstanding set of soph gals here with the favorites looking imposing. Significant Form better keep tabs on Animosity SCR'D (15-1) up front, though Wertheimer Euro poacher Armoricaine could be attending the pace too. 'Other' Chad Brown runners Altea (8-1) & Mighty Scarlett (8-1), Weaver's Daddy Is a Legend (7-2) and Lynch's La Signare (6-1), who lost to stunning Toinette at KEE, all have license to perform..

Most Likely: #5 Significant Form 8-5 2nd
Best Value: #9 La Signare 6-1 WON ($14.60)
Next Best: #8 Daddy Is a Legend 7-2 4th
Exotics Use: #1 Altea 8-1 5th

9th: MSW, F&M-3+, 1m-T

And after talking about those great turf mares from a decade ago, note Film Maker's 3yo War Front daughter Her Latest Film in this good group of diploma seekers. Similarly, Toner has #9 Honored Promise (20-1) whose Darby Dan lineage is shared by Wonder Again going back to foundation mare Soaring..

Best Value: #1 Emmy Performance 8-1 WON ($10.60)
Next Best: #4 Competitionofideas 5-2 2nd
Exotics Use: #12 Her Latest Film 4-1 6th
Super Add: #6 Compression 5-1 3rd

P6 Grid:

4: 3 (A), - (B), 4-6 (C)
5: 3-8 (A), - (B), - (C)
6: 4-7 (A), - (B), 1-3-8 (C)
7: 2-10 (A), - (B), 1-4 (C)
8: 5-9 (A), 1-8 (B), - (C)
9: 1-4 (A), 6-9-12 (B), - (C)

Simple (A+B): 1x2x2x2x4x5 = 80 x $2 = $160
All A's: 1x2x2x2x2x2 = 32 x $2 = $64

P5 Grid:

5: 3-8 (A), - (B), 2-9-10-11 (C)
6: 4-7 (A), - (B), 1-3-8 (C)
7: 2-10 (A), - (B), 1-4-7-8 (C)
8: 5-9 (A), 1-8 (B), 2-6 (C)
9: 1-4 (A), 6-9-12 (B), 5 (C)

P4 Grid:

6: 1-4-7 (A), - (B), 3-8 (C)
7: 2-4-10 (A), - (B), 1-7-8 (C)
8: 5-9 (A), 1-8 (B), - (C)
9: 1-4 (A), 6-12 (B), 5-9 (C)

Simple (A+B): 3x3x4x4 = 144 x .50 = $72
All A's: 3x3x2x2 = 36 x .50 = $18

$0.50 Pick-4 (8/2/9/1) Paid $2,392.75 (C-A-A-A)

Good luck!
Steve

Thank you as always Steve. They should light the tote board on fire with Kerosene.
