ROI Results 6/22 @ Thistledown
Well some players knew "Jack" about Thistledown. In fact more than half of the players did
as 5 players hit the board and 9 tickets were cashed. Too bad this is the only trip we will make to Thistledown as Ohio Derby Day only comes once a year. Cal hit the most winners on the day and settled for the Super spot. His array of trifecta's in the feature returned $102 and change. Joly gets the Show spot by the exacta route in race 5. The 1-2 exacta got him $112. The Place slot was shared by Roamin and Real Quiet. Both won $70 via the win route with win bets in races 3-5-9. The winner this week was Ruffian. Ruff played Forest Breeze to win in the 4th and was rewarded with a $25.20 payout for each two bucks of which she had a few. That was Ruffian's 5th ROI win of the year and her profit of over $200 gets her a little closer to positivity. Following are the unofficial results pending any player saying "Real Quiet, you don't know Jack". While this is usually true, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn occasionally and I do like nuts. See you all next week at...........any suggestions? Woodbine, Gulfstream, Belmont, Churchill or Arlington. They all have graded stakes. Bloodhorse doesn't list the Queen's Plate as graded. Is that correct? WIN... Ruffian... +$202.40..., RACE 4 #3 $24 WIN $25.20 X 12... $302.40 PLACE... Roamin... +$70.00... RACE 9 100 WIN #2 $3.40 X 50... $170.00 PLACE... Real Quiet... +$70.00... Even though not graded, the QP has a few good things in its corner. It has a purse of $1 million. Even in Canadian $$, that's not chump change. It is Canada's oldest thoroughbred race, having been founded in 1860. One source calls it the oldest continuously run race in North America (perhaps because major US horse racing took a hiatus during WWII). It is the first race in the Canadian Triple Crown. This year's race is likely to attract a field of 14 entrants. The undercard doesn't look too shabby either. |
