Default TAMPA/Late Pick 4/Sat.

Races 6-9

Race 6 CLM25K 1 1/16 TURF

#1 - QUITE THE GUY (10-1ML) - Allen/Allen combo always dangerous. 5 of 8 ITM on Tampa weeds. 3rd off and 3 works leading into this. Gets ground saving trip from rail.4th @14-1

#7 - IVAN JAY PERRY (5-2ML) - Late running 10YO gets Lezcano and pace to run at. Tough at a short price. 1st @4-5

#4 - OH OLEG (8-1ML) - Ohio bred exits 2 straight state bred 1 1/4 dirt races. Returns to track and surface that he has had luck on in the past.3rd @11-1

#3 - BIG TEX (4-1ML) - Another with a couple good races on the Tampa grass. Draw a line through his last off the turf effort and he fits in here nicely.2nd @6-1

AE #12 EVERYTHING TO GAIN - Back class puts him on top if he draws in.

Race 7 MSW 18K 6 FURLONGS

#6 - BELLO PAPPA (15-1ML) - Bennett runner well bet in debut, but raced wide after being bumped. 3 sharp works show this son of Snow Ridge loves the sand at Tampa. Trainer stats impressive in all areas. Sitting on go and a very live longshot.

#5 - BARKLEY SOUND (2-1ML) - Raced well in two starts in KY. 2 local works not awe inspiring, but Joan Scott knows her 2YO's. May be vulnerable at a short price.1st @ 4-5

#1 - BUSHY'S YIELD (5-1ML) - Kept to task nicely after breaking slow in debut and closed into a traditionaly speed favoring Meadowlands dirt.

#2 - NOTICE ME NOW (5-2ML) - Money burning favorite in first 2 starts will take $$$ again, but not expecting on ON TOP finish.2nd @ 5-2

LONGSHOT - #9 FRIEGHTER (12-1ML)

Race 8 ALW 21700NC 5 FURLONGS TURF

#2 - IMMEDIATE REACTION (10-1ML) - Bennett 22% first off the claim. Houghton should secure trip just off the speed drawn to his outside.

#8 - CALL ME PETE (4-1) - Zadie/Lezcano combo always dangerous and always a short price. Turf sprint specialist has plenty of speed.

#7 - PROCREATE (3-1) - The other speedball in the race. Trombetta ships him in off a light freshening. May be sitting on a big one.2nd @ 3-1

#10 - IN MEMORIAM (10-1ML) - Good post to stalk from and may run them down late if the speed isn't holding.

Race 9 OC 32K/N2X 6 FURLONGS

#3 WINNIES TIGGER TOO (8-1) - Horse for course returns to sight of his best efforts.

#7 GUAPETON (7-2ML) - Lightly raced 3YO has done little wrong thus far. Sports a bullet work over the track.1st @ EVEN

#6 RIGHT CONNECTION (15-1ML) - Suffolk shipper looks plenty fit to tackle these at a juicy price.

#2 DANGEROUS GUY (12-1) - Team Allen ships Awesome Again gelding down South after 3 1/2 month freshening. R.A. is 22% off this type layoff. Should boost exotics as well.

Pick 4 play

1-3-4-7/
1-5-6/
2-7-8/
7

$36 for $1

So many angles in that pick four ticket, so fruitfully and probably get prunes at the end of it.....

I like Kev's horse in the 4th leg (4 horse) a little.

Just seems to me that there are some vulnerable fav's in alot of these races...and I just tried to take the most reasonable stabs I thought possible. You know me and my betting patterns as well as anyone...I don't play much chalk.

You know, I was thinking about what Mike (Bigsmc) said and I think this needs to be hammered into our heads.

Recency (horses that just ran or have been running) could be a HUGE angle at Tampa to start the meet. That track is VERY deep and tiring and a horse off the layoff could want no part of that. I am going to pay close attention to that, see what comes of it..

I agree...and for the most part I will play very few bets in the first couple weeks. Maybe some spot plays on turf routes...but no way am I playing every race. At most...1 spot play and the late 4. Just mainly gonna take notes and look for troubled trips, etc...

It is like Laviolette to me. i would love to see Laviolette go down to Tampa, it would be so hilarious, he, Craig Faine, and Taylor Hole can start a pool when one of them would get their first win....

Will a more experienced race watcher take a look at the replay of the 6th race. I loved the #1 QUITE A GUY in there today. Mike Allen gave a strange ride in there...looked to have plenty of horse, but made a move incredibly early. Not sure what he was thinking there at all. Not sure if he would have beat the winner...but all I ever ask for is a chance...and after a very premature move, I had no chance. I had a WP wager on him and really thought he fit nicely in that race.

Any comments to help would be great.

1) Not beating Ivan Jay Perry, horse is just 'right' right now, which is amazing given he is 10. Rivelli is also known around here as a 'super' trainer

2) It was a position move, I told you this already, he was already 8 bazillion wide and needed to make that move for ANY hope, how he got 8 bazillion wide is beyond me. I can't find the replay to confirm this, but this is what I saw while watching the race

3) Play him back next time, he could have needed the race, the 4 is an auto play back, he had alot of run but didn't get the trip.....
