Default Honest To God.......

I am sittin here wondering about this as my Beef Stew is waiting...............

At your local track, do you notice people who do not stand and or take off their hat when the anthem is being played before the 1st race?

I say boot them out, no better yet, curse them with the spell of bad beats all day long

Totally agree with you see it all the time Philly and
Meadowlands but hardly Delaware Park. They
should show respect to the greatest country in the world.
These are the some scumbags that you see cursing
death on the jockey, horse and probably are the ones
spitting on floor inside the grandstand. PURE SCUM

They are total crap. No use for them in the country. I think they should have their voting rights taken away with the disrespect they show...

you just touched on one of my pet peeves. i get really ticked off at people who run their mouth while the anthem is played. you can't wait a few seconds to verbalize a thought?! it's just manners folks!
but then, go to any restaurant anymore, and see how people let their kids behave.

I agree 100%.

I'm at Calder often and if I'm in the grandstand when they play the Nat Anthem, I'd bet more people remain seated than bother to stand.

Doesn't seem to be an age/sex/etc thing... People just don't care.

While I'm at it, another peeve is the recording of the Star Spangled Banner they play over the P.A. system at Calder. It's just awful and hasn't been changed in years. Incredibly scratchy and a bunch of notes are skipped.

I don't expect fighter jets and marching bands for a Monday card at the track. But is a reasonably decent version of the National Anthem too much to ask for?

I really have no dog in this fight...some folks never give anyone but themselves a second thought...not unique to the track. If you want to see a real example of man's inhumanity to man...go Christmas shopping! STS...wow, George "the Animal" Steele...great pic!

I have issue with the people who give no regard to the anthem at all, who continue to hoot and holler, talk on their phone, swear, not even acknowledge what is going on
