The 2007 Derby Trail Contest
This is a new contest for 2007 that may replace the winter contest and will focus on the Trail to the Kentucky Derby. Each week a list of stakes races for 3 year old horses will be posted and you will be asked to pick one horse for each race that you believe will be the winner. The “bet” you are placing is a $2 WPS and where ever your horse finishes, you will get that payout across the board (ie: if your horse wins, you will get the win/show/place payouts combined, if your horse places you will get place/show, etc.). You have to play all prep races for the week.
AND as an added bonus, anyone who places bets before the KY Derby on the eventual winner gets those points (or $$$) multiplied by 10 (ie: Barbaro in last years Florida Derby paid $5.20 / $3.60 / $2.80 for a $2 bet across the board so your return was $11.60. With this contest, after he won the KY Derby, you would be credited with an additional $116 - Winning points of $11.60 x 10 = $116). Hopefully this makes sense, let me know if you have any questions or concerns. This weeks races are as follows: Saturday, January 6, 2007 AQUADUCT: Race 8 - The 32nd Running of the Count Fleet Stakes Distance: 1 Mile, 70 Yards PP's: http://www.drf.com/row/pps/06countfleet.pdf TURFWAY: Race 11 - Turfway Prevue Stakes Distance: 6 ½ Furlongs PP’s: http://www.turfway.com/uploads/nomin...1229095601.pdf Sunday, January 7, 2007 GULFSTREAM: Spectacular Bid Stakes Distance: 6 Furlongs PP’s: http://www.gulfstreampark.com/NR/rdo...ularBidPPs.pdf SANTA ANITA: San Miguel Stakes Distance: 6 Furlongs PP's: http://www.santaanita.com/horsemen/s...lstakes-pp.pdf Please post no later that one hour before post time your pick for each race.

I like the way you've structured it, because missing a week can only hurt someone, not help. At least that's the way I'm interpreting your "bets". Nothing happens to my "score" unless my pick finishes in the money, right? --Dunbar
