Only 2 days until the return of the best show on tv. We need a good dose of Jack Bauer.

Oh don't think that....you'll get right into it. Let me know if you watch tomorrow night and what you think afterwards. It might be a little confusing at that start for you, but trust me, you will be wrapped up by the end of the show. Plus there are enough DT'ers that watch it that can clear up any confusion.

Samarta is correct. I missed seasons 3 and 4 and had no problem picking up last year. Jack Bauer is the greatest American hero there ever was-a complete badass. watch sunday and monday and you'll be hooked.

What? Jack Bauer second to Dr. McDreamy!!?!?!?!? That's like saying Clint Eastwood is a close second to Hoss Cartwright.....

24 is an exciting, non-stop ride....it will keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire 40+ minutes, the seasonal arc is obviously very strong and miss an episode and you miss a lot. The concept was novel, the writing is ok and the acting is excellent. I can understand why folks love it...I don't. When you pack an entire season into 24 hours, you can't have character development...just wouldn't make sense. There is little humor and once you ID the bad guys, few twists that can't be predicted. It is what it is...an exciting show to watch but strictly good guys vs bad guys. Really, it comes down to personal taste...I enjoy shows with character development, humor mixed with drama and other elements, and snappy dialog...that's just me.

I would think DVD would be the way to go with this show...watching the episodes back-to-back would really increase the enjoyment.

Just start on Sunday. You will pick it up. Every season is different. Almost like starting over. So just watch it.

True. There are only a couple of things every season that would be confusing without having seen the previous seasons -- and I'm sure we'd be willing to fill anyone in.

I agree. There are so many little things that happen that you forget with a week in between, and characters and events from 10 weeks earlier that are fuzzy. I recently watch the season two-back with Shohreh Aghdashloo in two days with a friend. It was amazing how much I had forgotten and how many little things made more sense when watching them all back to back instead of over the course of five months.

What did ya think Kev? He was captured by the Chinese Gov't at the end of that last show last year. It stemmed back to season 4 when he led an assault of the Chinese Embassy and one of the Chinese gov't employees was killed. All last season you thought the Chinese would resurface and it wasn't until he had saved the world for the 5th time that they did. They do a great job with all the twists in this show.

I watched it for the first time. It was def but I thought a few of the "twists" were a little predictable. Although the biting thing freaked me out a tad. LoL

24 was off tha chain! First time I watched it

My questions

1. Why was Jack in a chinese prison for 2 years?

2. Who was the president before he went away?

3. Has the show always been based about terrorists?

1.) Because a few seasons back, he took it upon himself (with the president's knowledge, but NOT his approval, to invade a Chinese embassy (?) where he killed the Chinese consulate. That is considered sovereign soil, and the Chinese knew he did it but could not prove it. At the end of last season, the show closed with him getting captured by the Chinese.

2.) The President when he left was President Logan, who was a smarmy jerkface who was more or less "in" on what was happening. He "tried" to do something good for America and it backfired, then he broke all sorts of laws trying to cover it up. Jack caught him and got him to unknowningly confess at the end of last season. This season's president Wayne Palmer's brother David Palmer was the original president on 24. He was killed in the first seven minutes of last season (though he was not the president at the time), and he was played by Dennis Haysbert.

3.) Yes, the show has always been about terrorists, and foiling their huge plans for American destruction.
