![]() I was at gulfstream a couple of days the last week or two and was kinda dumbfounded by a longshot which paid alot of coin. The trainer had never raced a horse in 2006/7 and his name started and ended with a vowel. The jockey also drew a blank with me, as did his stats. I drew my conclusions and said to myself, " oh , well " another putover at gulfstream. I didn't dwell on it and had pretty much forgotten about it until I just happened upon an Andy Beyer column on the very same subject, from Feb. 6th at the DRF. Apparently Andy just couldn't help but find out what gives with both the trainer and the stable. An amusing story awaits ..........

As far as another trainer getting one of the horses and running it in that trainers name goes; last year a guy I knew put me on to a horse that was from Fingers and shipped in to NY and was running under another trainers name. He found it out by going back to a past FL race and saw who the trainer was. However; I have to agree with CS that there are some definite holes in the story. Maybe Andy only wrote part of the story, heard from a MD friend that he isn't having the best of wagering years. ![]() |
