4th Annual FINAL RESULTS
FINAL RESULTS - Sweet Home Alabama!
1. Alabama Stakes 2. Port Conway 3. Mark 2061 A very interesting handicapping season with the main stories coming down to two horses over the meet, first ESS Shape which brought home a sweet $1340 for Alabama Stakes giving him an insurmountable lead and this year’s winner of the Saratoga Meet Contest with 7/40 and an ROI of 1.84, and on the last day, Goldzar, which would bring a smile to Port Conway who would vault to a clear second place with a $655 winner giving him only 4/40 but a healthy ROI of 1.12.. Please download the zipped file for the excel spreadsheet for details. But there are many other stories this year. Mark2061 who won the lose “your load first” award tapping out 40 bets I think in 5 days, but hitting 9 winners and holding the top or second most of the way ending up third with 9/40 and an ROI of 0.97. Or Arletta who over the four years would have more wins than Pletcher at Saratoga…OK maybe not that many, but a lot. Not to mention Brockguy, Math716, Cannon, jms62, the bart, and knickslion2 who all made some bold moves. Or maybe your’s truly. Going a stellar 3/112 over the last three years in this contest, and that’s finally hitting the “All Button” last year in desperation the tide turned on the final weekend hitting a massive 8 winner to end up positive ROI of 0.04. That effort joins 18 others (A record) who ended the contest in the positive. Overall of those who hit at least one winner, the group of about 60 went 225/1295 for 17.37% wining clip. Hope you enjoyed the contest. Winners please PM me with your contact information. Only 45 weeks still you can enjoy another afternoon at the Spaaaaaaaaaaah Spyder out.........................................

Congrats to the top 3.
I found it strange how only 6 players played all of their 40 bets. One of my favorite contests and I look forward to trying to win next years Thanks again Spyder for doing this every year. |

It's very possible that people played all 40 bets, but since it's already factored in to the numbers, it's extra worthless work that Spyder didn't need to do.

You're right...it's the extra work thing. Everyone starts down 800 so it's assumed the rest are loosers, but didn't change % and 40 bets.
As said, I'm into third second year of real job after consulting for 10 years. Really puts a crimp on my time, but, I did just happen to have to be traveling on business in and around Saratoga opening day....and Del Mar three weeks later so it's not all bad!

Had I known cheating would be allowed, I would not have entered.
Congratulations to the Big 3 Cheaters. I hope you're all very happy. |

Thanks again Spyder for another truly brilliant competition. I'm sorry to have missed out on another prize, but it makes me look at Saratoga a lot more than I would normally and I have now grown to the place... and well done to all the winners!!
