Default Circular Quay in the Louisiana Derby

I think that this horse looked pretty good today. Going against a decent field down at the Fair Grounds, and won impressively.

I think some in-depth consideration will be needed for him come May...

Uhhh, maybe you're a little new so you didn't know, but this horse has been talked about on here extensively ever since his eye popping maiden race last june. Almost every time he races there is quite a lively discussion about how good he may or may not be.

Not sure who had dibs on him, but when Randall and I watched him win at Churchill Downs in July of last year, he looked at me and said "there is your Hopeful winner right there"

I think Oracle was first. There were a few others including myself that kept going slightly gaga over every one of his races last summer.

It was Oracle. The race chart said 4 wide in 2ond turn won driving and clearly the best. Who said he wasn't as good a 3yo as he was a 2yo?

Oracle was the first to jump on him, and two or three including me jumped on at the same time.

I'm still on the Street Sense bandwagon, period. Of course I wasn't here so there is no way to validate this, but liked him since the AP meet. I think that while his schedule is disconcerting, the BC Juvy has validated itself very well as far as the form of runners from the race returning as 3yos, and I expect him to do that same.

Point of that? You can have CQ

Well I just got back from the Fair Grounds. What a day. Beautiful weather and even better racing. Quay ran a great race. Looked like a winner in the paddock/post parade and galloped out like a winner too. Einstien was one that surprised me, never been a big fan but, Wow! He had an evenful trip to say the least. I made alittle money on the Oneil/Redam filly. Appealing Zophie looked like crap in the post parade and ran that way too. Liquidity looked to be in good flesh but just had that blank, could give a crap look about him. Dont know what is up with that. And Master Command looked just like that The Master was in total Command of the horses in his race.lol Just thought I would share my days events.

I liked Street Sense in the BC, and liked him through January, but I just don't think he can be ready now.

I was pretty impressed by him today but I think the race sort of set up for him and the long Fairgrounds stretch is condusive to his running style.

Ketchikan ran a nicer race in my opinion. . . He had sort of a weird trip and still dug in and hung with CQ at the end. . .
