Default Magna Needs to be Eliminated...

from the NYRA bidding consideration. talk about a callous, selfish, incompetent approach to horse racing, just look at the Preakness. Hustle the Kentucky Derby winner into the gate after Barbaro breaks through. Do not even evaluate the situation. Keep the millions bet on him. that's all they wanted. Then try to cover up their crime.

Horse racing does not need this cancer in NY.

I say reject them based on their performance and ELIMINATE them from whatever lies they float in the bidding process.

When in doubt, run the horse, screw the horse, screw the public. Magna, we do not want you in NY.

LOL. And we don't need MOMMY's boys from the NTRA to tell us what to do. These phonies suck. Horse racing will rule in NY...i hope.

God Bless that Whitney woman. She is our QUEEN.

You may not like Magna but would you rather have CDI? Hopefully neither Magna or CDI will get NYRA.

This is the worst post that I have ever read in my life.

Magna is a good organization. They approach racing a little different but they are doing a good job. They spend money and understand that people who go to the track need different avenues for entertainment. If you own a business, you try and find ways to increase revenue. For example, I just do not want to do oil changes so I add other services. Magna wants people not only to gamble on horses but also on slots, spend money on dinner, shopping etc etc. He wants an entertainment complex. Now in some places this works--Santa Anita and Gulfstream but I dont think it would work in New York. But he would be better than NYRA. CDSI will be the front runner in the bidding process.

I dont think I am qualified enough to state the business likes of Magna, but making a baseless accusation that there was some crime committed on Preakness day is just off the wall. If the horse was injured they would not have put him back in the gate. Even if there was a question. Period. End of story.

What happened to Barbaro was terrible, but it wasn't Magna's fault.

Well stated. Agree.
More than a bit of a stretch in linking those things.

Sumitas,
I don't see the link to Magna with Barbaro's injury...
but I DO agree that NY racing has huge problems.
That huge takeout goes to fund the state's operating budget.
NYRA has done their share of damage but, seems to me, they've been against the wall for a long while.
And the "politics" continue....stupid, stupid stuff.
They'll wreck it with their wrangling...

Yupper, 2 purely political appointments as a payback. These are the types of people in charge of horse racing in NY. Pathetic.

Pathetic!!!
At least now that the curtain has been pushed aside, some of the organizations that have a lot to do with NY racing will come in to show some outrage about this charade.
Rile 'em up! (owners, breeders, farms)
Make 'em answer for the nonsense (politicos)
Muck the stalls...cause if ya don't ...the stink gets very bad fast.

So, who do you think Magna is buying?
