Default The trouble with Simulcast facilities..

and playing numerous tracks... thanks to Andy, I just went to DRF.com and started reading some of the stories about today's races... and I just found out that Hucking Hot was a late scratch in the 9th at Keeneland I completely missed that during the day.. luckily I collect my losing tickets, although I'll need to go through a trashbag full of them from today to find the $5 or $10 bucks I've got coming back.

Good news/Bad news: good news, it didn't take long to find the ticket... bad news, only 2 stinkin dollars, but that's 2 more than nothin.

You cant see a running tote. They cut it off with about 2 or 3 min to post. I rely on the tote to make most of my bets which are win or place. So it becomes a suprise. I have only bet larger sums when I get to be at a track running live. The simulcasting is purely and totally for amusement and to watch all the different tracks.

The pik bets for me are entertainment.

It's not that you can't see it.. it's just that with many tracks, and many races going off at the same time, and no audio, you can miss things like a late scratch, or even a disqualification. While I do try to focus on one track for my major plays, I must admit I find myself making smaller bets at other tracks between races. It's a habit I'm trying to break.

I only play one track at a time. I cant concentrate enough on more than one. And when I am at a track live I am standing in front of an open machine, watching the big board to determine if I hit the print ticket button or not. The numbers got to be right or its not worth the risk.

Unfortunately, I've gotten pretty good at juggling 3 or 4 tracks at once.. it's when I add a 5th or 6th that I get confused Seriously, I envy your discipline, this is probably the main reason my handicapping is far better than my wagering results. And I make some unbelievably stupid bets at times!!

There's an old saying...HOLD ALL TICKETS, UNTIL THE RACE IS MADE OFFICIAL!
