Preachin Man (Hip 173) and Tigeroo (Hip 20)
At the Feb 2007 OBS 2 year old sale, I watched two horses that I felt had a lot of potential. One sold for far less than what I thought she was worth. Since I don't have the money to actually buy one of these beautiful animals, I wanted to go on record for identifying the value in these two youngsters.
Preachin Man is the son of Songandaprayer and Sweet Cameron. He ran a 10.1 under saddle at the sale. Preachin Man was withdrawn from the sale. But, I believe he was worth at 200K. If anyone knows how much the owner paid, I really like to know. Tigeroo is the daughter of Hold than Tiger and Barronette. She ran a 10.2 and 10.3 under saddle at the sale. She sold for 85K at the sale. Plus, she is from the New Episode Training Center where Funny Cide was trained. The owners are a couple of the nicest folks you'll ever meet. While I don't know much, I closely watched all the horse run that day. And, these two ran effortlessly. I believe it is worth putting these two on your horse watch list. |

No Way!
Are you pulling my leg? Are you talking about the 2 year old? Where did he run?

I like to keep up with horses from sales that I really like. We have running QH's and I always like to "stable alert" the 2yr olds that I like but are maybe out of my price range.

You're talking about Preachin Man Songandaprayer-Sweet Cameron? I thought you were kidding at first, taking a first-time MSW winner and then pretending that you had watch-listed him from a sale! I didn't realize you were genuinely not kidding around. http://www.equibase.com/premium/eqbP...&RACE=2&BorP=B |

There must not have been any interest in him at the Ocala Feb Two Year Old Sale. They would not have withdrawn him if there was a lot of interest being shown in him. His conformation must have turned people off. There was nothing wrong with his workout at the sale. He worked fast and he moved well. I liked the work. I bet on him first-time out. I don't think they'll have any problem selling him now. They can probably get somewhere between $100,000-$200,000 for him if he passes the vet. With regard to the Hold That Tiger filly, I thought she moved alright but she was on her left lead in both workouts. I don't like horses who are on their wrong lead. I've found that a very high percentage of horses that are on their wrong lead at the sale, also run on their wrong lead once they start racing. Sure there have been a few great horses who run on their left lead, but very few. In the last 5 years, I can't think of one good horse that runs on his left lead. There may be one or two that are slipping my mind, but there aren't many. I certainly would not buy a horse that is on their left lead at the sale. |

Tigeroo won one of the races at the Aiken Trials early this month.

Again, I did not know. Where are the Aiken Trials? I need money. I liked them both as soon as I saw them run.
What can I say? A poor man's pain. |

Maybe Baffert just doesn't always pick the right ones. He may have missed him. I think those guys throw some beers back together. They may have partied too hard and missed out.

Hey Eng,
Did you notice that Preachin Man won a $48K stake at Louisiana Downs on Saturday? |
