Ahh, sometimes words just don't express such a profound sense of confusion and overwhelming sadness. What a waste of human life. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone that was affected. And doc, very glad your son is okay.

This thread became what it should not have been... I vote to take it down completely, wake up tomorrow and think about things and people that really matter...and what we ALL have!!!!! Partly because of those 'kids' serving and dying in Iraq. Not because of some psycho in VA.....

Still an incredibly sad and depressing atmospere in the area today. Worked my part time job today and one of our everyday customers found out that one of the victims was her son's girlfriend.

A very melancholy cloud hangs continues to hang over southwest Va.

I think this is one that hits hard everywhere....just incredibly sad! More is coming out about the shooter and, of course, the wonderful and talented young people who's lives he took. I watched the Convocation on CNN and was amazed at the strength of the VT community...indeed a special school with special students having a close sense of community...they will get through this monstrous thing but I grieve for all effected.

These people need all our thoughts and prayers that we can give them.

Thank you Somer.

Yeah, looks like all Va laws were followed. There will be a lot of debates that will occur...gun control, campus security, mental health...many issues. Right now, the mourning needs to occur...hearing stories about so many of the victims...the brave Holocaust survivor who gave his life so his students could escape, wonderful young folks who were apparently just in the wrong place at the wrong time...too sad for words.
