Default American Oaks

I love this race. Last year Cesario destroyed the field. Does anyone know who is being pointed to this race. I wonder if Lady of Venice will wheel back and run in this race. Attima is going to be tough but that Japanese filly Asahi Rising looks good as well. I love this race and I think Lady of Venice could take this field if she decided to go.

Lady of Venicehas been invited, I haven't heard if she'll run yet though. Here's the list of nominees(from a DRF article):

The 14 invitations to the Grade 1 American Oaks were issued on Sunday to 3-year-old fillies from six countries.

Aside from Attima, the locally based hopefuls include Foxysox, Proxenia, and Galileo's Star, who were second through fourth in the Honeymoon Handicap; and Sol Mi Fa, who won the Bay Meadows Breeders' Cup Oaks in her U.S. debut on May 29.

The shippers from other circuits are Lady of Venice, the winner of Saturday's Grade 3 Regret Stakes at Churchill Downs; Perilous Pursuit, who won the Late Bloomer Stakes at Belmont Park on June 11; the unbeaten Pine Island, who has yet to run in a stakes; and Wait a While, winner of the Sands Point Stakes at Belmont Park on June 3.

The international team is led by Dionisia, who won Sunday's Group 1 Italian Oaks. The others are Arravale, a two-time stakes winner from Canada; the Japanese stakes winner Asahi Rising; Fauvelia, a stakes-placed filly from France; and Queen Cleopatra, who was third in the French Oaks on June 11 and is trained in Ireland by Aidan O'Brien.

The list of starters is subject to change. Since the race was launched in 2002, the list of starters has changed between the time that invitations were issued and race day because

Perilous Pursuit is a very nice horse. Never sure about the distance but this horse has been VERY impressive in both her starts, and wins, so far this year.

Perilous Pursuit is a very nice filly. I heard that she might not run in the race.
