I'm really late on this
but I just barely checked my tivo and watched the recap of Rolex 3 day event for this year....(it was held in late April)
anyone who is familiar with 3 day eventing and '4star' level eventing knows how demanding this sport is... Karen O'connor finished 3rd this year on a 14 hand sport pony!!! most of the cross country jumps are bigger than he is! some pics I took a few years ago so you can get perspective on how big the cross country fences are.

i watched some of it, sadly the horse who got pulled up right at the finish did have to be euthanized. have to admit, i knew as soon as it happened that he wouldn't be around for long.
i enjoy the show jumping and cross country (horse obstacle course!) but dressage doesn't do much for me as far as watching it...yawn.

I saw the title of this thread and thought it was something "female", monthly. Anyway...sad about the horse. |

As for dressage, I enjoy watching it immensely... I just wish it was half as easy to ride it as it looks. I love the cross country jumping, though... one of my fave movies is Sylvester.
