I'm afraid to say i'm not sure where there would be any video links to his races, he ran in the mid to late 90's.
He was a sprinter, although he did have a crackin the 2000 Guineas the year Mark Of Esteem won. Royal Applause only ever won two Gr1 races, and one of those was at 2, when he was a very impressive winner of the middle park at Newmarket. If anything, on that form he was quite disappointing at three and he only won one moderate race. He seemed to improve again slightly at four, with his main success coming in the Haydock sprint cup, beating Danetime. For me, Royal Applause hasn't done that well at stud, but he often sires really nice looking and nice moving horses. |

He does do quite well with 2yo's though and a few horses he has sired have gone onto be pretty good, including Ticker Tape, Majestic Missile and Acclamtion (the later two were both decent sprinters) and Acclamation has his first crop running in the Northern Hemisphere this year and he is doing quite well so far.
I'm pretty sure his only Gr1 winner in the Northern Hemisphere has been Ticker Tape (Gr1 winner in America) but i may be wrong. He has a sire index of 7.6 furlongs. |
