DUAL 1,000 Guineas winner Finsceal Beo looks set to tackle 1m 2f for the first time in what promises to be an outstanding Nassau Stakes at Goodwood on Saturday.

The Jim Bolger-trained filly, successful in the 1m Classics at both Newmarket and the Curragh and never raced beyond that distance, is among nine confirmed entries for this weekend's Blue Square-sponsored £200,000 event.

Connections seem keen to take up the challenge and Bolger said on Monday: "If we are going to get good ground, there is every possibility that Finsceal Beo will run - we will wait and see what the weather does over the next few days."

He added: "If she misses Goodwood, she could go for the Royal Whip at the Curragh on August 12 and then take in the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown on Irish Champion Stakes day before heading for the Prix de l'Opera."

Finsceal Beo's presence at Goodwood would add further lustre to a contest that is also an intended target for three-time Group 1 winner Mandesha, Henry Cecil's Light Shift and Adrian O'Brien's Peeping Fawn, first and second in this season's Oaks at Epsom before reversing positions in the Irish equivalent at the Curragh.

The John Gosden-trained Nannina, Stan Moore's Dont Dili Dali, Mick Channon's Sweet Lilly and Michael Jarvis's Yaqeen are others still holding the engagement, while last year's 1,000 Guineas heroine Speciosa will be partnered by Jamie Spencer, unless Micky Fenton is successful with an appeal against a six-day suspension picked up at Musselburgh last week.

Fenton goes to London for the hearing on Thursday and Sly said on Monday: "We've asked Jamie to come here and have a sit on Speciosa tomorrow."

Sly added: "We'd prefer some rain before Saturday, but I don't think we're going to get it, and it looks like being a very tough race to win, perhaps even the race of the meeting."

Love Peeping Fawn (and Speciosa, although I doubt she'd win).

There's no particular Glorious Goodwood thread so good luck to Yellowstone, Royalist and Cake tomorrow.

Incredible field!

I'd like to see Finsceal bounce back after Ascot, but I'd be happy if any of those mentioned in that article won!

apparantly, Finsceal is waiting for the Royal Whip (which is open to 3yos and up. High Chap won it a few years back I believe!). It's a G2 over 10f!

still a nice race tomorrow though..O'Brien has done an amazing job with Peeping Fawn this year but Mandesha at her best should win. The only problem is that I dont think we've seen her best this year!
