![]() I feel like Scott Norwood in the playoffs, Phil Mickelson in the Open, Ben Wallace on the FT line, and any other person that gets the yips. (Feel free to add other choke artists). I gotta turn this **** around before next Saturday because I don't want to piss away this opportunity in the DRF/NTRA. Anyone got any things I can do to kick these f'n yips? Like spin around 3 times, chug a beer and crush the can on your head or something?

![]() Gotta take the pressure off. The more you think about it, like yips, the more you're gonna choke.
Sometime's I feel the pressure in capping. Starting with race one (lousyrace0 Race 2, etc. So instead, I'll right to the best races of the day, maybe feature, maybe grass route (my favs), and work my way back into earlier races. Are you picking bad horses or making bad wajors. Big difference. If it's the latter do as the last poster says and make wagors that pay off more often. Win versus pick three, etc. That will be $50 sir. Dr. Spyder

![]() Steve Sax...
Stop. Don't look at a form or a sheet for at least the next five days. The next form you should look at is for the next Saturday's (the contest) card. Just stop. If things are that bad you are only going to make them worse by continuing to try to get rid of your yips. You need a fresh outlook. |

![]() sometimes you can over prepare and burnout. after the weekend take three days off, don't look at a form or watch a race. you'll be fresh for the following weekend. sometimes its like a horse and you just need a freshening.
if that don't work, try an equipment change, like getting gelded. it might help you focus. ![]() |

The Yips exist only in the mind of the individual who believes he has them, so to get rid of them, you need only convince yourself that they are gone! Whatever it takes to do this, is what you need to do. Remember, 90% of handicapping is half mental! Ya Gotta Believe |

![]() Got a hunch
bet a bunch hehehe I find what I seem to do is find the best horse then try and beat him. There too many races where I don't get a feel. Can't visualize how it will run. Don't waste any time on those. I have to agree with the people that say get away form it. Don't look at a form for 5 days. I miss one week and it feels like a month Good luck John

![]() just keep at it... I went thru the same thing the beginning of the year. As long as you're a good handicapper, which you are for sure, it will come back.

Scav....Keep betting..Every hour, every day..Bet on horses, greyhounds, trotters, pit bulls, jai-lai...whatever you can find. Keep betting every day until you are a quivering, spineless, brain dead lump of Cubdom for the DRF/NTRA contest... Then it's one less person for me to worry about ![]()

I'll agree with him, except for a lil different reason. I've been ridiculed for the analogy before, so I'll use it again lol. This game can be a like a good jump shooter in a shooting slump. The way they get out of those slumps? Keep shooting. I suggest that for someone like you who knows what the hell they're doing (not for idiots that claim they do, and lose because they have no clue, because they'll just keep losing). Even when you're making educated bets with good info in front of you, we still lose a lot. But keep playing the hunches, and even when you're not hitting the broad-side of a barn, keep playing them. They'll eventually come around for you.
