Default Does Poolland Lose Because TAP Trained Her?

Given recent tends one has to wonder if TAP has become his own version of THE COOLER now where everything he touches turns to silver and sometimes bronze.....

Although he is no longer the trainer for Poolland, one can only wonder if the expiration of Todd's much publicized contract with the devil which expired July 26 2007 shortly after Saratoga opened would affect horses he trained before this modern day Joe Hardy became a common man. Recent results show TAP's September 2007 winning percentage to now be just a shade higher than jockey Freddie Fong's Southern California success rate.

Today former trainee Poolland will venture 8.5F today at Belmont in the Beautiful Please Stakes against 5 others that at best would normally be also rans to this BC entrant less than a year ago. The most likely competition will come from the rail in Altese and the outside closer Take a Check both long shots but given the effect of THE COOLER from Dallas Texas perhaps more than a single for the P4 will be necessary in the feature.

The late P4 a Belmont today....

Race 6

A) 4 JetaStik

Turnback angle for the leading rider at the moment could be ready to pop

B) 6 City Spirit

Hushion and Hill take a second turf start and make it a winner.

1) 7 Special Format

Goldberg is Golden so far with Castellano enjoying first chair

2) 1A Wicked Queen

He works for Cobler....but Sciacca dangerous with time to plot theft of a race

Race 7 .

A) 8 Woodmere

Coa tries to beat the pace setter. If runs race 4 back could cause trouble down the stretch

B) 10 Stormin Normandy

Probably thought he was entered in Race 8. Too good for these but thats why they race

1) 6 Any Which Way

Moved forward at Toga good enough for third

2) 5 American Senor

Scott Volk comes back for a shot at bronze

Race 8

1) 1 Who What Win

Moving back toward top with Rafeal that could win this

2) 3 French Transition

What Bush did to invent Freedom Toast and Freedom Fries.
Serpe and Garcia continue to improve after Toga two step...

3) 4 Raceland

Coa shows Violette how he should have done it with this front runner

Race 9

1) 4 Chief For a Day

Bruce Levine does well with this kind of layoff and talented Garcia continues to win quietly. Should grab this one n Stretch

2) 7 Saratoga Kaz

Two silver medals at Toga could get gold if Raceland doesn't fire

A) 2 Biohazzard

Hooves in a closed room in a squatting position......

Sheet theory says 2 pair ups with a layoff should move forward at a price for
those who believe.

B) 8 Legal Tender

Has a competitive dirt race hidden under all those turf mishaps. Could surprise

The play

2,4,5,12/2,5,8,10/1,3/4,7

While Pool Land has struggled the last two times she was returning off layoffs, she absolutely towers over this field and seems to have a significant pace advantage. There's a bit of a difference between this race and the races which she returned from layoffs into last year. While Albertrani's numbers are not so hot with layoff runners and horses new to his barn, Pool Land should find her way to the front early on and I can't imagine worse than an exacta finish.
