Default "First Saturday in May" film

I just received this update from their website - I haven't been able to see the film yet, but I can't wait. I'm posting this all here - it's commercial, so I don't know how Steve feels about this forward being posted here, but I think there are alot of folks here who would like to support the Hennegan brother's effort, and this particular film:

---------------------------
"A buoyant and energizing film experience that may just be the best documentary of the year . . . THE FIRST SATURDAY IN MAY may not be the most publicized documentary of the year but, like HOOP DREAMS in 1994, once it finds its audience it will be a swift ride to the winner's circle."

This was written a few days ago by an international movie reviewer named Howard Schumann who had just seen our film at the Vancouver International Film Festival. We started off with this quote because it directly relates to the reason for our e-mail.

Our film needs your help to continue building an audience. Word of mouth can make or break an independent film. We have made tremendous strides in the last 5 months via our grassroots marketing campaign and successful runs at several summer film fests including Tribeca, AFI SilverDocs and Vancouver. We need to continue this momentum, however, by continuing to build our core audience. This will insure the distribution of the DVD this summer for we can prove we can directly connect with our audience.

"What can I do to help?" is a question everyones kindly asks. PLEASE HAVE YOUR FRIENDS/RACETRACKERS/HORSE AND ANIMAL LOVERS GO TO OUR WEBSITE AND REGISTER ( www.thefirstsaturdayinmay.com). If you are involved with a group or club that would connect with our subject matter or you are a member of the media, please pass it to the appropriate parties. Registering is extremely important for us and takes only 30 seconds. If you have received this, you are registered.

You can also help by attending and directing your friends to attend a screening of THE FIRST SATURDAY IN MAY as it will be playing in seven film festivals between now and Thanksgiving . . .

Why can't they offer the movie for download online for $20?

I'm sick of reading about this damn movie that isn't available.

Perhaps they can just cut you a copy and have it delivered FedEx to you for your convenience.

No they should just keep doing what they're doing because it's working. I'm sure the Oscar is a lock.

Forget that movie and save your pennies. You'll just wind up getting high and watching Clerks for the 75th time anyway.
