Default Slow month for Jessie?

"The proposed Sirius-XM merger would eliminate the potential of any meaningful competition in the satellite radio market, which would, in turn, permanently block the potential for diversity of ownership and control by minorities in the only medium capable of nationwide broadcasting," said Jackson.

I wonder what Jesse's side kick (moron) Sharpton would have to say about this possible merger. Maybe Farrakan or Tawana Brawley or even the lady from the Duke case could give an opinion. Maybe the Duke lady will even be sober.

I guess it must be time for me to give "Pants" and some other folks the opportunity to bash me again...here's the thing, the above post is racist, pure and simple. I don't know Nascar and frankly I have no desire to but that is a racist post! Jesse Jackson bashing is a forum activity, and as a public figure, he's fair game as is Al Sharpton and even "Calipso Lewie"...the fact that I respect all three is one man's opinion, equally valid but no more so than the opinion of those who feel differently...just because someone feels compelled to "call out" all three doesn't make their remarks racist, but what exactly, aside from being black, do the two women mentioned have to do with the subject? The woman from NC did something that harms victims of male sexual aggression everywhere...she apparently made up the entire story, possibly (I don't know) in an attempt to eventually sue a "bunch of rich folks". She was dead wrong and her lies harmed a lot of people...BUT, why mention her instead of the scumbag DA who attempted to win an election and make a name for himself by pandering to racial distrust and sensationalism? Wasn't he disbarred and last I heard possibly facing criminal prosecution?? Seems to me he would be a more fitting example of what folks here seem to think is "political whoring"...but oh yeah, he's WHITE! And the woman who accused Kobe Bryant of rape...apparently her story didn't add up but instead we hear about Tawana. Of course, that woman was WHITE! Tawana was a kid who, to escape being punished for her behavior, made up a wild story about unidentified cops...was it wrong? Of course...but how many million kids OF ALL RACES do the same thing? The difference there was that it snowballed and innocent folks once again were effected. Blame Al for responding before the facts were known and I accept the point but bring up some kid who told a lie in a thread about "political whores" and I just don't see the connection...EXCEPT SHE IS BLACK! This is racism no matter what defense is offered, and no number of snide, belittling or attack-oriented posts directed forthwidth toward me will change that!

you must have really missed nailing yourself to a cross the months you were gone.

i think you joyfully roll naked in snide, belittling and attack oriented posts. they allow you to demonstrate moral superiority.

Sorry about forgetting about the DA, your right he is total scum also. rumor has it that it was an election year. I really dont care what you think of me, but the truth must hurt you. I think the DA has already been disbarred.

Again, I respect your different point of view regarding both these public figures...that's different from the post I responded to! If you look closely enough at any public figure, indeed at any human being, you will find your share of warts....my position doesn't constitute a "blind eye", it is simply a product of being around awhile. Whether it be George Bush, Hillary Clinton or the pope...I was listening to some Cincinnati talk radio program yesterday coming home from work, a well-known conservative talking head was taking Hillary to task for being hypocritical, a liar and stupid. George Bush's intelligence is questioned by what appears to be the entire liberal community, and the pope has stuck his holy foot in his mouth rather frequently. These partisan "views" of folks who maintain a different philosophy dot the landscape of Americana...but a 15 year old girl has nothing to do with the state of America's political environment....and the rather curious expansion of a "mock Jesse" thread to include only black so-called "examples" while excluding equally (or greater) repulsive acts by white folks speaks for itself.

There is probably more context to this statement. However, the concerns with satellite ownership do not revolve around minority ownership. The primary concern is the medium's long-term viability with two competitors in very niche' marketplace. Minorities enjoy many opportunities in communications. In small market that I reside in, one minority-owned company owns hip-hop and classic R&B stations.

Jesse Jackson should be less about his one-note race campaigns and more about economic development which aids all socio-economic groups.

I agree with your statement regarding economic development which produces opportunities for all groups. Again, defending Jackson is not my motivation here.
