Magna press releases always rank high on the unintentional humor rankings

Wow, that may be the single greatest quote in press release history.

So stadium seats go from 1,000 to 800 for the commoners. What I don't get is they're not having public canings for women who don't have Coach purses. I'm disappointed with public relations for overlooking that one.

This post deserves appaluse. I thought the same thing, though the caning is an extra-nice touch. And there is now a new pile of dirt at the 1/16th pole for us commoners to enjoy.

Now that I have your attention, what's up with the Ian Curtis avatar?

That's almost enough for me to wish I saw avatars.

Lets get rid of all stadium seating fill it up with owner boxes and make the common man stand outside in the parking lots looking at big screen tvs and placing bets at wagering terminals. Also, all graded stakes races should have their own days.

I'm sure the trainers are lining up for the chance to run 9.5 furlongs three weeks before the Derby.

Feels like a Magna prep for the Preakness to me.

I was there on Florida Derby Day. We had seats about 50 feet before the finish line. There were more empty than taken seats in the grandstand that day, same as it was on Donn Day and same as Sun Millions Day.

If you really need something to rag on Gulfstream about, just take a look at the condition book.

Oh, there's plenty more to rag on Gulfstream about than that. Plenty more. Basically ruining a great place to spend the afternoon sums it up for me. They built the most uncomfortable place, from top to bottom, imaginable.

I won't return until they bulldoze it.....unless I'm getting paid.

Hit the nail right on the head there. Was a great place to relax in the winter sun, watch quality horse racing in a relaxing atmosphere.

Total opposite now. Now they herd you into tents and throw a few benches here and there. If you want to bet simulcast races you either have to sit in a stuffy room or under a tent with undesirables.

I didn't mind the temporary bleachers they put in last year.

Maybe they could get some of the women who are too pretty to be good exercise riders to work there.

The racing there is pretty much terrible though. They must be determined to ruin their grass course because they wrote a ton of grass races for bad horses.

The purses blow. Because the NY crowd winters there, you have to beat very good horses to win very little money. If you are a trainer you are much better off at Oaklawn or Fairgrounds.
I like the racing @ FG and oaklawn better anyway
