Word is that is going to happen. Shaq to Phoenix for a physical. I think it is a good trade. They won't ask much from Shaq. All he needs to do is play 15 minutes a game when Amare in resting or in foul trouble. He is a viable back-up in the league. Plus you now have 12 fouls to throw at Duncan.

Not just a physicall; Olivia Newton-John's physical on 8-track.

Seems like a fair trade to me.

I think it's a good trade for both parties. The Suns now get a very capable big man who may be only a shell of his former self but is still good for 15-8 a night if given enough minutes. He's an improvement over whoever the Suns currently have at center. Unless of course he's going to play power forward for the Suns since several posters insist that Amare Stoudamire is really a center. If he can get healthy, I am sure he'll contribute. His real impact won't be seen until the playoffs, when the games slow down a little and there is more space between games. For the Suns, sure, it's a big financial move but I think they realize that the window is closing and in the NBA, when you see that you have a chance to get even one, you have to go for it fully. There are two types of teams in sports; those that are in position to win a title and those that aren't. If you aren't, you do what it takes to get you into it. Whether it works or not is secondary to trying what you think will work instead of standing pat with what you know won't work.
