![]() Just back from Summit... TONS of fun with the highlight being with Weigelia a good part of the early afternoon and then getting a pretty good thrill to the 16th pole. He ran huge, and Trombetta, owners Theos & Balsalmo and I all agreed that on a more-speed friendly CRC day, he'd have been VERY tough to catch... He'll come to Saratoga next, a track he also loves... More on the early part of Saturday with this fruitcake pony tomorrow or when I get home... Pretty funny story...
Making money was tough today if you got behind early and were trying to stab. Then you'd have had to get lucky. Wild day with the Calder main getting slower and slower as the day wore on, as they didn't water it much if at all...

How bad was the stumble at the start for Weigelia, I didnt see the race? Do you think it cost him first or second? Nice comeback for Pomeroy, huh? |

![]() This helped kill the pain just now,
a short 30 minute nap outside at the pool, a dip in the pool (man it is hot here) and some sliced tomatoe with garlic salt dinner in a few will be pasta time however for a little break from the action, I lost $100 today real quick Quote:

Mike IMMEDIATELY was concerned at the break and barked "He stumbled..", but Lescano recovered him in the 2nd jump and he was on Joey P virtually immediately. Think in the end that it didn't matter a lick. He certainly wasn't holding off Nightmare Affair, and he simply cannot finish ahead of Pomeroy no matter where or when they meet. The pair has met three times: Amsterdam (G3) '04: Weigelia 3rd, 2L behind Pomeroy (Bwana Charlie wins) King's Bishop (G1) '04: Weigelia 2nd 1.5L behind Pomeroy (wins) Smile (G2) '06: Weigelia 3rd, 1L behind Pomeroy (Nightmare Affair wins) Kind of bizarre... Re: Pomeroy, I said Friday on the show and yesterday in the selections that Marty would absolutely not have Pomeroy in that race off that break if he wasn't ready to fire a big shot. Certainlly wasn't "prepping" for something else, right? Expect them both at Toga next for another rematch, and hopefully Weig's finally turns the table... BTW, Weigelia/SwtNoSaint co-owner Ted Theos was holding a $200 Weigelia-Nightmare Affair exacta ticket... Likely a $50,000 winner if the two hook up.

![]() The brigejumper on Dubai Escapade saved my day and I finished up a few bucks. However spent like Kentness last night and feel like him this morning. Should be nothing but water for me today. Will be out at Arlington. Why I don't know as I could probaby start the oven and crawl inside and get the same feeling. The weather is brutal and we'll have a good chance to hit 100.

![]() I made a little bit of money. I had a few first-time starters that I really liked who won, but they all got bet way down. They bet that horse in the 13th race at Calder down to 9-5 from his 6-1 morning line. I had the Bill Mott first-timer who won by 10 in the 2nd at Belmont, but he got bet down too. He went off at 2-1.

![]() I singled Nightmare Affair in the pick 3 ending in the Smile Handicap.Just didn't go deep enough in the Princess Rooney.Thought that D ESCAPADE might get beat by L M ALONE,OR EBONY BREEZE(Neither of those fired either.)Should have just gone Bling'/all/Nightmare,but d hindsight is always easy.

![]() Stayed away from Calder thinking that there were a lot of short priced faves who might get burned but not sure who would burn them.
Held my own until i bet the feature at Lone Star a Lemon Drop Kid horse who won again for the fourth straight time on the turf and paid over $9 to win with good thorograph figs. Able to hit the $52 exacta with a $20 ticket which was pretty much my profit for the day.... ![]()
