Default Churchill Downs - Closing Day - STEAM

Let's try this again today because there are some live horses running at a price:

Race 5: #2 GYROVAGI is a runner....throw out the maiden race at GP..it will only help his price....he has outworked some nice horses on the CD backside in the mornings....a must use at a fair price..

Race 7: The last 2YO maiden race of the CD meet....OFFICER ROCKET and TIS A MAN have looked heads and shoulders above the rest of this group in the mornings.....OFFICER ROCKET finished up a work in 23 and change with a 150-lb. gallop boy on his back while never being asked....he has never really been sat down but has some very nice works.....could be any kind....TIS A MAN might need more ground being by Tiznow, but he has been very impressive in the mornings for Foley....should make his prescence felt from of the pace.....LIGHTNING LARRY (likely fave) and YES IT'S THE TRUTH should both also factor here with experience under their belt, but I think Officer Rocket or Tis a Man are the horses to beat if they don't have the greeness that many firsters have...Also, BOLD START has been a bit of a disappointment thus far, as he was working really well before he debuted...I don't regard McPeek as a good trainer of young horses, so maybe this one will be okay now with a few races under his belt.....use him too.

Neil Howard's filly EASTER EGG has some ability in the last race, but BLANTON FOREST should be tough in her second start on the draw-in....Also, BRIDGE GAME - a cheap purchase despite her pedigree - has flashed some ability in the morning and needs to also be used at a good price....

Good luck on betting the maidens!

What ever happened to CD finishing their meet with a 10-furlong race?
