Default Prado on Adriano

http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/rac...rby-mount.aspx

Chalk it up to his relationship with Motion, or does he (or his agent) think Adriano's got a better shot than Tale of Ekati or Monba?

Interesting. The jock carousel will continue, I'm sure. There were rumors that Gomez would hop off Court Vision in favor of Colonel John, but those have been shot down (Nakatani still on). Gomez could wind up on one of the Pletcher horses, if he were to leave Mott's colt.

In fact, these seem to to be the only somewhat confirmed jockey assignments for the derby:

War Pass - C.Velasquez
Pyro - S. Bridgemohan
Big Brown - K. Desormeaux
Recapturetheglory - ET Baird
Smooth Air - Manny Cruz
Visionaire - Jose Lezcano
Adriano - Edgar Prado
Gayego - Mike Smith

I suspect Robby Albarado will end up on Z Fortune.

Also, you can add Alex Solis to riding Bob Black Jack. He committed late last week.

him and his agent have to think that... realtionships are cool and all but this is the derby, he'd ride whatever horse he felt had the best chance, and its adriano...

I don't think Prado thinks any of those horses have a big chance, otherwise he would've committed earlier.

Well, at the Team Penning Monday night, Jamie Theriot showed he really has an excellent seat on a horse and some cow sense. Julian L. is okay, and Robby A. looked a bit out of place. Angel C. was there, but I don't think he was really participating

No, really "working" cattle, for charity (Don MacBeth Memorial Jockey Fund) - two local cowboys or girls, and a jock on the team. Cut three designated cattle out and into the pen at the other end of the arena. They also have a calcutta on the teams. Tim Conway was the Emcee.

Bill W. is in town and goes, I went along with him - pretty fun stuff!

But Theriot really does have a very good, soft seat on a horse. Pat Day was there, too. Who else, Bill?

Sure.. Or if the difference is negligible, he might choose loyalty. If he thought Tale of Ekati or Monba had legitimate shots to win, he'd be on one of them. Says something about them that he chose the horse who's yet to prove anything on dirt, I think.

i was going to say something like that earlier..... i throw monba and tale of ekati out now.... adriano was horrible on dirt in the FOY, and that race has came back to be a horrible race, no one has come back to win, and he was beaten badly, never ran a good or even decent race on dirt, and prado picks him over... the wood winner and the bluegrass winner....
