Default for those not familar with Jimmy's

this guy on another board hit it right on the head

Sylvia, (the former owner), Augie and Joe, (her permanent barkeeps), are turning over in their graves. Just toast a draft Old Style to days of yore. Back when the gate crew was well imbibed by 9:00 AM. Back when Joe Bolero and J. Bert Sonnier would be into their third vodka martini before saddling winners hours later only five furlongs away. A place where an infamous local bookie/gambler chased a wide eyed Chickenman out of the bar wielding a hand gun. A place where one lucky gambler who had hit the ninth race trifecta for some $500.00, walked out of the bar without any money, and still having an outstanding tab.

Chickenman is still around for those worried

This is the place on the NE corner of Wilke/NW HWY?

If so, it's sad news. Many many great hours spent there .

That's the place. I'm going to make it a point to stop by after the races today.

Not a bad idea. I'll be at the track but wouldn't mind stopping by for a pop or two. If you're there look for a big guy with a racing form and tan shirt.

I'll be wearing an NTRA baseball jersey over a yellow T shirt. Will be in the party in the park area during racing (usually under the tent watching Bel) most anyone (regulars) can guide you to me and my post name is my real last name.
