As long as it doesn't play out like the last one, here's the way to start getting some bite behind the bark. Eric |

![]() yeah, i saw this story a few weeks back and posted about it, chuck said that it probably won't hold up-which is a shame.
i don't suppose there is any kind of contract or such signed by trainers/owners, etc saying that the jockey club or track officials can toss your butt, or suspend you, for cause?

![]() I don't know the details, but the Meadowlands (and Monmouth) are owned and operated by NJ State. Most places have terms and conditions on the stall application. Some places they can refuse entries or stalls. There should be more ways that tracks, management, etc. can deal with these issues.
What I don't like was the last time a harness trainer and driver got caught -- there was a celebration that they handed out some massive fine and a 10 year plus suspension. I think the driver was back in about a year, and the trainer is still out but competing back in his home state. Again, I don't remember the details as to why and how this developed. Eric |

As far as the judge ruling those penalties excessive -- I didn't know that. I would think the tracks, states, etc. would want to take a stand on that. First, I don't know the track record(s) of those involved. Second, although I haven't read the transcripts (if they are available), I would think the state did not pull out all the stops -- every possible charge, grounds, etc. I doubt I'll have the time, LOL, but I'd be curious as to the details.
