this is horrible... did not know him well, but used to spend time with him at the University of Arizona Symposium and have a few drinks & laughs. He was a very nice and funny guy who I enjoyed talking to a lot.. Being a former RTIP grad himself, he would embrace us students.
He will be missed. RIP Luke.

Kruytbosch memorial service planned at Ellis
Luke Kruytbosch, the announcer at Churchill Downs, Turf Paradise, and Ellis Park who was found dead Monday morning in his Evansville, Ind., apartment, will be memorialized in a service at Ellis Park when racing resumes there Wednesday.
Ellis Park’s director of operations, Bob Jackson, said the track is still working out the details of the service, but tentative plans call for it to begin before the first race, “maybe five minutes to 12 (central) and last for about 10 or 15 minutes,” said Jackson. http://www.drf.com/news/article/96379.html

More details on the service Saturday and a tribute was paid today as the first race was run in silence.
