Default Invisible Mode

Why does this exist?

Just curious.
I usually dont spend a heck of a lot of time
looking over how these sites work.

I understand no email and no private messages.

Does it exist if you can't see it?

A paradox to be sure...

Actually I was looking through the user CP and was just wondering
why one would want to be "invisible"? I personally like to be tangible
matter.

and I used to think I was invisible if someone threw
a towel over my head.

But really now, what is the purpose of the Invisible Mode?

My reason is that this way I can come and go, look at the current user list thingy, temporarily ignore pm's , etc., without anyone clicking on my profile to see what I'm looking at.

Stupid, I know...

No this makes sense.
Ignore PM's... you spare the PMer knowing you dont care
to reply at the moment. I get that part.

And more edification, thanks... you dont want people knowing what
you are looking at. I get that also (and did not know it existed but tried it, kinda cool feature I guess.)
Honesty is very helpful. Thanks.

Anything else I am missing?

I use it only when looking at the Beulah thread.

That's pretty much it.

So you know though, on the main page if you click on current active users? You can see where everyone is.

Hooray for spying!

I mean, ummm.... it's interesting at times.
