Default Harvey Pack should know

The handicappers on OTBTV are pros and do handicap everyday of the year.

If it wasn't for OTB, Mr. Pack would not be in our living rooms.

And, exploiting children as handicappers on the "air" is not good TV or a responsible act.

I'm not going to lower myself to what you are desperately attempting to stir up here, but Harvey had zero to do with Jake Romans being MY guest yesterday. How exactly was Jake " exploited " yesterday?

And, furthermore, it was Jake's father, Dale Romans, who spoke to me about Jake being on. I was more than happy to have him as a guest and hope he can come back next year.

I enjoyed the show yesterday, and thought it was great seeing Jake up there.

Simple, common sense professionalism.
No desperation Throat. No stirring. I like Harvey. I think he's a real character. Sometimes he throws shots at others that don't come across as funny as he's trying to be.
As far as the young lad, I just don't think it was a good call.

No Coach not Roger Ebert. Roone Arledge.

I think your avatar is on point.

did the kid give out any winners??

I dont know whats up with this supposed moral authority here. There has been a million stories on here about Parents taking their kids to the track... or people here who used to go way back when... I cant see anything wrong with having Jake Romans on the show. I'm sure it will be a memorable experience for the boy also.

I know exactly what you are referring to concerning Harvey. However, I think you are sort of ignoring the big picture. He makes fun of everyone....including himself. He calls all of us, basically, idiots ( including me ). It's his schtick.

And, once again, he had absolutely nothing to do with Jake being on yesterday. I'm sorry if you felt it was a " bad call " having him on but as you know, you can't please everyone all the time and, even though I disagree with you on this particular issue, none of us are immune from making possibly bad decisions on guests we bring on shows. We simply are trying to do the best we can. I know I am.

I was gonna go there but you beat me to it. My only complaint with Jake Romans being on is he had to be exposed to Paseka. That can do much more harm to a young mind then actually being on a handicapping show.

Thanks Andy. I appreciate your comments. If I see you on track we'll have a lemonade on me.

You just earned my respect with that response. I'm sure you're relieved by that. I understand how most see it as not a big deal to have the kid on the show. It is not typical for most 10 year olds to tout horses and hustle poker games.

Another good example the Romans can set for their kids is to lower their carb intake. If they do, then they can enter their golden years and watch young Jakey blossom into an all out degenerate.

yeah, cause we suddenly started trying to 'cap when we turned 18, right? never tried to find a winner before the legal age, right?
but then, i'm a degenerate as i caught my 16 yr old putting vouchers thru a machine at AP, and just told him not to get thrown out..i should be in jail for contributing to the delinquency...

oh, and i'm sure there's a playboy laying around exposed somewhere in this house. i may just be the anti-christ.

I guess no one here understands the regulatory differences placed on OTBs vs. race tracks.
I take my grandkids to the track and yes the oldest is interested in 'capping and other aspects of the game. But, I can't take him to an OTB in NY or the Racino but I can take him to the harness track.
I have no problem with a kid genious in the horse game but, he was on OTB TV. Like I said their are very real differences.

Maybe they will shutdown OTB because of this. If that is the case they should do the show from the elementary school.
