why cant we run all the phucking races on the turf.for a whole day..you have 2 days two repair any damage ,its sunday..and its is a carryover..

As unhappy as I was that two races came off the turf, I really don't think you realize how hard it rained, and frankly most tracks would have taken all the races off. The turf was good Saturday, look at the times, and the deluge today was rough.

The grass doesn't dry out at this time of year like it does in July or August. The sun is less warm and the days much shorter.
Also (as I learned from my lawn guy) during the summer most grasses are in growing mode. Their roots are absorbing water and nutrients from the soil to aid fast growth. In October, the growth has slowed and as it does, the roots are taking less water out of the soil.
