When will the tax cut be scrapped
I saw one brief headline on Yahoo talking about how there is just way too much damage done by the Bush Administration to give the middle class their promised tax cut.
I know no one here cares about that empty promise I just think it is funny. How many times are people going to believe it ? Congress was talking about allowing offshore oil drilling before the election then they kinda let it go by the wayside when they thought they would win. They were talking about a 2nd stimilus package before the election now it also seems to be on hold. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HajJAkQj_HU

He must do something about the job market. There are many qualified people that are unemployed out there. Not to mention all the people that worked for companies like Bear Sterns and Lehman that thought they were close to living a very good retired life. Now not only can't they retire, but they have to go out and look for a jobs. That's more people into a very deep talent pool already.
If people aren't working, then they are not spending and then the government isn't collecting. You all know how it works. I don't know how he is going to do it, but raising taxes on small companies might just make it worse, if that's possible.

Of course, nobody can undue the last 8 years in a couple days. It will take time and anyone who thought otherwise for a second isn't in touch with reality. Obama's speech was clear and honest...reminded me of JFK's "ask not what your country can do for you...." We'll talk after Obama has a chance to right the ship...of course, some folks have nothing left but cynicism...

Where I will be pissed off is if Obama spends irresponsibly. I'm expecting him to bring in more tax money while reducing spending. I know the conservatives are convinced he's going to tax and spend and while I want to see the spending shifted around, I don't want to see it increase. |

When will the Obama doubters be separated from the Obama haters?
Wingnut, you must have hated Reagan and the two Bush spoiled frat boys. You probably didn't like Nixon. Gerald Ford was pretty unoffensive, how about him? The Democratic presidents have been horrible, too. Bill Clinton was the then DNC's golden boy, and slave to big buisness. Kerry was another born with a silver spoon in his mouth pompous ass. Dukakis wasn't "man" enough to carry the Joe Six Pack crowd. Gore was also too passive I know, I know, it's in vogue now to praise Reagan. |

The first Bush was disappointing. The 2nd was willing to scrap all for the war in Iraq. I think if we judge President Bush by his enemies he will go down as one of the greatest presidents EVAR. Nixon was a big government guy I guess that is why he was hated so much. That and the 55 mph speed limit. Gerald Ford ~ two great quotes Remember, a governement that can give you everything you want can take from you all that you have I've always thought that voting was overrated ~ Ford head on Futurama Clinton got away with murder. The slogan... take credit not responsibilty. Obama like Clinton, will spend his first 4 years campaigning for the next 4. Gore couldn't carry his own state. I like to think that his anti-civil rights stance was that cost him the election... that and the people stuffng the ballot box in Florida were too lazy to stick the ballots in 1 at a time. (hence the dimpled and hanging chads) I didn't vote for McCain. He's betrayed us too often to earn support. I voted libertarian. Sadly they couldn't even beat out the Green Communist Party. I guess people don't want liberty. oh btw... nothing I have stated was hate. Just an observation that the campaign promise is just that. I agree with McCain on this point. He would/ has said anything to get elected.
