Default Studs Turkel's death last week..

Had meant all week to bring up the passing of the warm, funny and engaging writer, monologist and uniquely 'American' figure. He was terrific and I loved everything he was involved in including his great turns on Prairie Home Companion.

Times obit if you missed it..

And Adam Cohen's excellent Opinion piece..

His last comments involving the couple making
a airport train late was so Studs...

I think the new world of information had
him thrown for a loop. I get the feeling
he really had a hard time handling a feeling
that the world was becoming less human
with more information and how technology
was being used.

I would like to hear someone else's take.
He seemed very disillusioned with our current
"progress". Sad because he seemed like
he left us in a dissappointed mood.
